WOODCUTTERS MOUNTAIN MARKET

The charm of the quaint village of Haenertsburg isn't just in the picturesque scenery and central accommodation, it's the unique characters and stories that truly sets it apart. The twice-monthly Haenertsburg Mountain Market is set in the serene surroundings of Woodcutters Homestead Farm just out of Haenertsburg, which owner Michelle Holtman describes as ‘a little piece of heaven nestled between the rolling hills and mountains.’

Visitors can find fresh, locally-grown vegetables, free-range eggs & chickens, homemade sweet-treats, cakes, quiches, soups, pesto and patés, as well as locally-baked fresh breads.  There are natural healing creams, handmade soaps and bath salts as well as locally-crafted products.  Michelle says, ‘everything is delicious and unique, created with love and flair by our locals.’

After stocking up on treats, visitors can sit in the beautiful gardens surrounded by pine forests and enjoy some local fare.  Ask Mark about his ‘dinkum hillbilly moonshine.’ The market has an extremely relaxed vibe, where people can unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings with plenty of space for kids and dogs to roam. So, if you're in need of a dose of countryside charm and a taste of the good life, this market is where it's at.

Contact Michelle at 079 082 9969.  From Haenertsburg, turn left towards Polokwane onto the R71, travel 2 km, turning right onto the A9 dirt road at a sign saying ‘ Woodcutters’ and follow the little Woodcutters direction boards to A9.11.
