On the night of the 31st of December and the morning of the 1st of January, people in countries all over the world will get together to mark the beginning of a new year - a time to celebrate the past 12 months, embrace the present, and look forward to what’s ahead.
Count down to 2024 with a festive New Year’s Eve Party at the Iron Crown Pub in the high street of Haenertsburg. Audrey Earle and Lenny Thomas ‘grew up’ in the Iron Crown Pub as young residents of the area and jumped at the opportunity to buy it. Their first day of trading was the 1st of November 2019, made even more memorable by the fact that South Africa had just won the Rugby World Cup, this matching the euphoria of the recent Springbok victory in 2023.
Audrey says that their dream was to breathe new life into the much-beloved pub and indulge their love of a good party. So why not pull up a stool at the bar for their ‘Jam Jar’ cocktails or Zwakala beer on tap, welcoming faces and good old-fashioned pub grub like ribs, traditional chicken pie or the famous Haenertsburger made from all local produce. And then join the locals for live music, socialising and a festive vibe up to the celebratory countdown to a brand new sparkling year.
